How it Works

CycleGard is designed to offer maximum protection for today's smaller steam boilers. Additional circuitry enables the control to more accurately monitor the water level and screen out false signals created by foam and volatile water conditions.

Time Delay Features

When the water level drops below the probe, the Safgard 400 series control safely shuts down the burner after a 15 second delay. This delay feature prevents the burner from short cycling during temporary low water levels common in turbulent steam boiler environments. When the water level is restored, the control delays 30 seconds before restarting the burner. This allows an optional water feeder to raise the water above the probe to a normal operating level.

Normal Operation

When water is in contact with the probe, the Safgard control allows the burner to operate safely.

Low Water Operation

If the water level drops below the probe, the Safgard control safely shuts down the burner after a 15 second delay. Contacts are provided to operate an alarm or water feeder.
